PCP lessens or eliminates pain and sensitivity throughout the entire body. The results are comparable to those of general anesthesia.

Additionally, it has a dissociative effect, which means that at low dosages, it can separate the mind and body such that the subject is aware of what is happening but does not feel physically or emotionally involved.

They perceive themselves as a witness to their own behavior. PCP also frequently leads to violent and antisocial behavior.

PCP is one of the most dangerous drugs in existence. Varying and sporadic intoxication from PCP for days, weeks and even months after last use have been documented in people who abuse PCP. It can cause permanent physical and psychological damage.

• Lead to psychological disorders (anxiety, panic attack, depression, psychosis) or suicide, in the case of regular use and as a result of an overdose
